Eating your own cooking is the only way to get better.

If you manage a system, do you use it MORE than your customers do?  What about your services?  Did you leverage your internal teams to make that last big decision?

Chances are, you probably aren’t doing things internally the way that you help your clients to do the same things.

It’s a natural thing.  Often our organizations are most resistant to the very ideas that you are out in the marketplace selling.  The pressure of hitting deadlines doesn’t allow the finance team to streamline the process.  Procurement would love to put in place a purchasing strategy, but they just aren’t staffed enough to consider it.  All the same arguments that clients give you.  But you accept it from the internal teams but not from clients?

So what are you going to do about it to get better?
