The worst tools – those that sell well but don’t actually add value.

There are a class of applications that drive me absolutely up a wall: those that look amazing on paper but once you actually start using them they amount to nothing different than what you were doing before.  It’s only one step up from vaporware (tools that look really cool but never actually materialize at all).

It’s really easy to give into the sales team and create something new and snazzy that meets their needs for showing off in a board room.  But make sure it also does something in the work room.
